This Role Might Not Be for You If:


  • You don’t enjoy interacting with customers.
  • You’re not comfortable with manual labor or working outdoors.
  • You’re not into following training and giving it your all.


What You’ll Do:


  • Install new garage doors and remove old ones.
  • Replace worn or broken door parts.
  • Assemble and install mechanical components like springs and hardware.
  • Run wiring to connect equipment and test its functionality.
  • Educate customers on upgrades and ensure they’re thrilled with the service.
  • Keep accurate records of each job.


What We’re Looking For:


  • A great attitude! We want friendly, team oriented people.
  • Physically capable of lifting 75 lbs and working on ladders.
  • Comfortable bending, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic knowledge of tools like power drills, hammers, and saws.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record for at least 3 years.
  • Able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test (excluding THC).
  • Familiar with basic software/apps for navigation and job tracking.
  • Strong reading and basic math skills (e.g., measurements).
  • Professional and approachable appearance.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the U.S.


The Journey of an Installer at TyGrig:


  • Step 1: On-the-Job Training
    Your journey begins with hands-on training in your local market. From day one, you’ll work alongside one of our experienced technicians, learning the ropes in real-world scenarios. This personalized, on-the-job training lasts 3-6 weeks and covers everything you need to know about garage door installation and repair.


  • Step 2: Build Your Expertise
    During training, you’ll master the technical skills and customer service techniques that set TyGrig apart. Every task is an opportunity to learn and grow, and our expert trainers are there to guide you every step of the way.


  • Step 3: Graduate and Get to Work
    Once you’ve completed your training, you’ll step into your role as a junior technician. You’ll start taking on your own installations and repairs, backed by the support of our entire team.


Pay, Benefits, and Perks:


  • Starting Pay: $20 + commission on additional sales/services.
  • Weekly Pay: Get paid every week!
  • Company provided vehicle with a gas card.
  • Tools provided.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) after 90 days.

Our Hiring Process:


We take hiring seriously because we’re building a team that works hard, learns quickly, and supports one another. Here’s what you can expect:


  1. Application Review
    We’ll review your application and contact you if we’re interested in learning more.

  2. Interview with a Recruiter
    A recruiter will schedule a 30–45 minute interview to talk about your background and answer any initial questions.

  3. Interview with a Manager
    You’ll meet with an area manager for a 30-minute conversation to dive deeper into the role.

  4. Ride Along
    This is where it gets exciting! You’ll spend a half-day riding along with one of our technicians to see what a typical day at TyGrig looks like.
